A proofreader will make sure that your work looks its best and does not distract the reader with errors, allowing it to look professional and polished while still keeping your style or voice.

After looking at your own work for so long, it is easy to miss mistakes and ‘read in’ what you meant. A proofreader is trained to pick up on errors just such as these, as well as checking other things such as:
• Grammar, spelling and punctuation;
• Consistency of headings and layout;
• That all pictures and figures are present and correctly referred to;
• Consistency of names and places.

I can proofread and make any necessary amendments and notes on paper using the BSI symbols, in Word or on Pdf. I am professionally trained, having passed the Publishing Training Centre’s Basic Proofreading course with a Distinction. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
